Whenever I get to visiting with someone about homeschooling, my kids look at each other and grin, because they know it means an extra thirty to forty-five minutes at the playground or the roller rink, or wherever we happen to be. I just can’t help myself when I find another mom who wants to talk shop. As we journey through the homeschooling life, it is a joy and a comfort to find out what is happening in the homes of others– what works, what doesn’t, the way the Lord provides, and the funny ( or foolish or amazing or mischievous) things our kids say and do.
Let me introduce myself.
I am Katie, mom of three daughters, ages 14, 11 and 8. (Their “web names” are Triss, Mariel and Cornflower.) We have always homeschooled, and every year I wait with anticipation to see how the Lord delivers us through the next level. So far he hasn’t disappointed.
We use the Ambleside Online curriculum, in combination with Bravewriter writing skills, Scott Foresman math in the elementary years, and a variety of things I pick up here and there when I decide we need them. I’ll be sharing some of my thoughts on these resources here at Homeschool Cafe.
